Species group: Mixed Breeds
Other name(s): Kimola; Lhaskimo
The basics:
RightPet does not advocate the intentional cross-breeding of purebred dogs. But the reality is that most dogs available for adoption at shelters and rescues are mixed breeds. We think it might be helpful to hear from owners of these mixes to see what traits can be found in these dogs who are desperately needing homes.
The first generation Kimola is a cross between a pure American Eskimo Dog and a pure Lhasa Apso, although subsequent generations may have different proportions of the two breeds in the mix. This so-called designer hybrid is intended to create a beautiful companion that fits easily into many families.
Appearance / health:
While all mixed-breed dogs can vary in appearance, the Kimola often leans toward the Lhaso Apso side of the family, Expect a mid-sized dog with dense, silky fut.
Behavior / temperament:
While it's impossible to predict the exact personality of a mixed-breed dog, owners have reported that the Kimola can become a loving family pet if socialized early with reward-based methods.
