The border collie is an intelligent breed who can be too smart for their own good! As a puppy, it is extremely important to start training them. They are considered a herding breed so it is important that they have work to do or else they might use their energy to tear up things because they are bored. This breed does shed, so make sure you brush them on occasion to keep their fur clean. They are athletic as well. If you can get them into agility classes, this will provide a fun way for you to spend with your dog; they love a good challenge! I recommend this dog for families with any age of children. These dogs need lots of room to run around. Do not buy this breed if you don't have the time to properly train them. I LOVE THIS BREED!
