I met Shadow through a street vendor on a 2 year visit to China. I was 13 years old and he was 1. I managed to convince my parents to purchase him so I could play with him.

Rough Collies are very intelligent. Shadow learned tricks fast as I rewarded him with positive reinforcement. He was easy to housebreak, which my parents loved. He was extremely friendly to the guests that visited our apartment.

Shadow's beautiful fur was a tad bit high maintenance. I had to brush it twice a week and when he shed it did get pretty messy.

However, I think the pros outweigh the cons. The maintenance was worth it to keep such a beautiful, friendly, intelligent dog.
