Acquired: Breeder (professional)

We had leased Sissy for a test breeding for one of our male show dogs. It was a test for a particular eye disease that required the mother of the puppies be blind.
Sissy, was with us for about 4 months. In that time, we developed a special bond with her as she had a completely different personality than our Rough Collies.
Despite being blind, she was more outgoing and energetic than what we were used to or expecting. We were expecting a dog that was slow and cautious feeling their way around new surroundings. At first she would trot around, but once she got a lay of the land, she was off and running.
Sissy loved to play and be with people. She had personality. She would rough houz with the kids and adults alike. She also had a special repertoire with the kids. She was always aware of what was going on around her. Like a 6th sense. If you didn't know, you would never have guessed that she was blind.
We grew fond of Sissy in the short time that she was with us. Even though we knew that she would only be with us for a short time, we were deeply saddened the day she left.
