Luna is the best parts of a weenie dog and the best parts of a Chihuahua. She is the best dog I’ve ever had. She is definitely the family’s favorite dog. She has a nice, shiny black coat that just begs to be petted. When she was a puppy, she was quite timid but she quickly broke out of her shell and became a protective dog for the family. She guards the house and every member of the family. Luna doesn’t attack anyone that shakes our hands or anything, but she will sniff them to make sure they are worthy to be in our presence. In our family, if Luna doesn’t take to you, there must be something wrong. She can sit, lay down, and do our favorite trick for her, roll over. I would keep her away from small pets because she will definitely want to eat them up or at the very least make a toy of them. When it comes to health, Luna is quite limber for her age and body structure. She has the classic Dachshund long body, so we thought we would have to deal with slipped disks or other common weenie dog ailments, but so far everything has been well for Luna. We even had a scare when it came to a horrifying dog food recall. After ingesting poisoned dog food she became quite sick and had to be taken to the vet. It was believed she wouldn't make it, but Luna, being strong and a fighter, she made it. I believe her love for the family helped her through it. A beautiful dog with a strong will and excellent people skills, a Dachshund mixed with a little Chihuahua is the best concoction. At almost 13 years old, Luna is still going strong and I love it.
