Max is an extremely unusual mix - Dachshund and Labrador. He is about 35 pounds and looks like an overgrown wiener dog, or as my dad says, "like a lab standing in a hole." I got him from a shelter when he was two years old, and he has been the most loving snugglebug a girl could ask for. He is sweet, and follows me wherever I go. Max has brought me endless joy and I can't imagine my life without him. However our time together has not been perfect. Because of his long spine, he has had some serious back problems (common in dachshunds and other long dogs such as corgies) and required an expensive surgery. He also has pretty serious separation anxiety and hates it when I leave without him, even to go get the mail. Still, I don't regret bringing him home. Dogs truly are man's best friend.
