Mr. Weenie was a gift for my son from a friend of ours and we immediately fell in love with him! I was suprised at the sublte independence of this breed, with behavior not unlike a cat. I understand they are dogs that will only do what you want if they feel they can get something out of it? They are not a breed that is eager to please you but rather stubborn. He was a little bit of a challenge to housetrain but very responsive and so much fun. Unfortunately he was stolen from us, a devastating loss for all of us! I would surely get another Daschund!!! I have heard from a friend who has had quite a few that males are far easier to train.
