Having a dachshund as a pet can be a humorous challenge, one thing is sure, you never get bored. It is a lovely and funny dog, stubborn, and quite of a thief, I would say since I conduct researches almost every day for my belongings, which he often steals if I don’t give him the desired attention. The grooming of my smooth dachshund is easy although he despites water. Usually they are adaptable in small spaces like apartments. This breed can be hard to train because of their arrogant nature they tend to teach their owners. The dachshund is very sensitive to cold weather due to their low height, so always make sure you dont take them for walk in cold raining day. Too much exercise, running or jumping, can cause damage to his spine and ribs, due to their long and short shape. Their barking is intense and they tend to bark quite a lot, becoming trully annoying syrens. The dachshund is great for families but not very small kids; they can become aggressive if nagged, or if they get jealous, towards strangers and other dogs if not socialized as a puppy. They do very well as alert dogs and they are very protective. It is, in conclusion, a very good and adorable dog, easy to groom and challenging in training. This dog will be devoted and dependent on his owner’s love and attention, but will still keep his temperament.
