When I first came across a dachshund breeder I was skeptical but my best friend convinced me that the deal was amazing for a purebreed. I adopted her and she was the sweetest little thing you've ever seen. And the someone knocked on my door and a whole new side was shown. She was sweet loving and craved attention constantly, the problem was if she didn't know you she would bark forever.

She was very smart, litter training was a breeze, but I could never get her to stop barking at anyone walking past the house, anytime the doorbell rang, or during storms, she would just bark and howl for hours. Also she didn't like hats for some odd reason, she would go from loving on me to barking and running if I put on a hat, I never understood that. All said she was a good dog but I wouldnt recommend this breed if you live in a densly populated area or have lots of company over.
