I raised Boer goats for 5 years. They are a very versatile breed and have quite the personality. I've had the opportunity to learn from Boer breeders who were raising for production, as well as for club (4-H, FFA) animals. Like many breeds of livestock, there are challenges, but the educational benefits quite out way any negative aspects of the breed.
