 died in the meantime from old age (11), and the female (Baby) is still with us, but she undergo a ovariohysterectomy do to pyometra just a while back (7 years).
Both of these dogs were taken to be a guard dogs of a yard or a house in the overcrowded city.
Bruno was chained and not properly trained, and Beba was emotionally neglected and underfed.
First of all, these animals are big animals, made for pastures and spaciousness, to guard sheep from wolfs and other predators. They are not a family cuddle dog, and they are not to be static.
They are independent and intelligent breed, which makes them really hard to train. They will be very good behaved indoors, but energetic outside, which makes them very good herd dogs, but not great companion animals. They are also a dominant breed so every animal in the household will under their protective care. They are gentle with kids, but they don't trust no one.
I had to work very much with Bruno, he was very aggressive and bed-tempered, and Beba is a nice and happy dog who likes to be fondled, but still, I had incidents with her as well. A few times it had happened that she caught a bird and cut it in peaces (not eat it or anything) living peaces all over my front yard, and when I came to collect it, she was protecting the pray by growling at me and other types of aggressive attitude. I understand that, because they have very strong pray instinct and protection, and they must be socialized and learned from early age. One person should be a owner and the dog will be loyal to this person.
I have seen many cases of Sarplaninac in the city, where they are not properly trained, or socialized, with an aggression that is invoked by the owner, because that is (in their mind) what is Sarplaninac all about. It is so wrong. They make these dogs into wild beasts they can not control, and when they became borderline dangerous or sick, they just throw them out (like Bruno).
Sarplaninac is not a family dog. It is a working dog. It can be a great hunting dog as well, but do not take in something you can not handle.

maintainance of Yorkshire terrier when it comes to exercise is easy. Housebreaking and walking on leash can be a nuisance because these dogs are temperamental.Other than that, they can be fragile, or get hurt easily. Other important part is hair. Long, silky hair is very, difficult to maintain. From first day you need to establish brushing routine, and it takes a lot of time and practice, and necessary cutting and hair-salon visitation.

The most common problems include skin, eyes and birthing difficulties. Generally, they suffer from health issues just like any other breed, but I would say they suffer more often.
They also like to pull a lot, and that combined with short nose can create more problems, so you need to train them from start, but they are not eager to get trained.
Bottom like is, this dog is maybe perfect dog for your kid's first puppy. He is small, gentle, likes to cuddle, silly, and doesn't need 5 hours walks, but you must take care of him, feed him properly, brush him and overall act like a good parent so your dog would live as longer as it can.){kind=link}
 a breed that requires the strongest character of the owner and always ongoing training. Akita is a fighting and hunting dog and it is not a fluffy family pup. His dominance and strong leadership will appoint him as the head of the pack where the pack is a family that owns him. Many behavioral problems may come from this, aggression, disobedience, etc.
With this dog breed it is necessary to appoint one person, an owner who will work with the dog, and work is extensive, but, once the dog is grown into fully shaped dog, you will get the best friend, best guard, that will protect everything that is yours with it's life.
He is great with kids, and he puts up with my cats, but that is after a lot of training, and I mean a lot. I do believe he should be a only animal in the house because essentially he can be aggressive to other animals. The best way for me to describe an Akita is to say he is dignified.He doesn't bark at all, but shedding is enormous.

After few days of no symptoms, he started showing pain symptoms during sleep, twitching and whimpering.
The quick review showed that he responds with pain to completely different movements of the back legs. 14 days after the first ear symptom, the dog completely and suddenly lost the function of the back legs and the possibility of getting up with presentation of worsening weakness and anorexia with obstipation and inability to urinate . X-ray was inconclusive/badly done.
Mental status of the dog changed to very fearful and somewhat aggressive.
The symptoms pointed out to many different diagnosis, including botulism, tick paralysis, poisoning, myastenia gravis, etc, but next X-ray showed something that was most likely Discus Hernia.
But, extensive neurological exam and MRI showed the ablation of two vertebrae as a result of osteosarcoma. ){kind=link}
