The cone of shame... it can be pretty adorable at first, but it can soon turn into a huge pain. My dog was going crazy around the house knocking into things, but soon got used to it after a good day. The veterinarians should always put it on in the exam room, to adjust for a proper fit. If your animal had surgery, like a spay, or a more critical procedure like a foreign body, a cone is a must. You do not want your dog to lick the incision site post surgery, as that can induce infection. So hang in there, bare with the cone, and allow the proper healing time for your loved animal.
